CTD Transect of the Kuroshio Extension 27-42 deg N, 152 deg E, May 1981

摘要

This report presents CTD observations of temperature and salinity as a function of hydrostatic pressure in the Kuroshio Extension in May 1981. Lowerings were made from the surface to the bottom along 152 E about every 30 nautical miles between 29 N and 41 N. Identical sections were made in July 1980 and May 1981. The scientific objections of these CTD surveys are to document the water masses presently in this area, and to compile the relative geostrophic currents from the surface to the bottom.
