Experimental Study of a High Rotational Speed Propulsor

A study of an ultra-high rotational speed propulsor, including experimental results, is detailed. The propulsor consists of a helix vane system encapsulated by a thin shell, with a fixed shroud at the exit to convert the radial and rotational velocity components into an axial velocity. The necessity of including the velocity wake deficit of the propulsor (itself) in the design considerations is described. (Author)
