Investigation verifies that sand from designated dredging area in Thimble Shoal Channel is appropriate for disposal on eroded Fort Story Beaches. Report delineates promising areas for sand recovery within Thimble Shoal Channel and gives preliminary design recommendations for sand placement. Sand stockpiling at five sites was evaluated with limited data. (Author)
