Study to Determine Command Guidance Required by Registered Nurses in the Management of Terminally Ill Patients during Pre-Death When Non-Resuscitative Measures Are Implied

This study examined current legalities and nursing opinions to determine what command guidance is required in cases where non-resuscitative measures are implied. Local to national statutes were examined. A survey of the nursing staff was used to determine issues and concerns. The study concludes with a list of specific items that should be covered in command guidance to clarify the issues involved.
