the Army Symposium, 1984, was the ninth in a series of biennial meetings sponsored by the Army Materials and Mechanics Research Center (AMMRC), Watertown, Massachusetts. The symposium consisted of various types of presentations; namely, Keynote Themes; Overviews of related federally ponsored research; full technical papers and a series of brief presentations and discussions of current, but not necessarily complete, research. This document contains the technical manuscripts and the abstracts for the various presentations.
