Impact of ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) Testing on ARNG (Army National Guard) Accessions.

Over the past few years the Army National Guard (ARNG) has been in the process of converting to the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) to test non-prior service applicants. During the same period of time, the number of non-prior service accessions has decreased. This study is an attempt to determine if conversion to the ASVAB is the reason for the decrease in non-prior service accessions and, if so then to identify why the conversion is causing the decrease. The study concludes with a series of recommendations to assist the ARNG in making the conversion and in meeting their manpower goals.
