摘要

Spectroscopic evidence on the role of oxygen in the redox chemistry of lutetium diphthalocyanine is reported. The observations indicate an irreversible reaction of oxygen with vacuum-sublimed films of the dye material and a reversible reaction with its solution in dimethylformamide. This behavior can account for several apparent anomalies found in previous investigations.
