On the basis of published thermodynamic data, one establishes diagrams representing the influence of temperature and pressure on the equilibrium conditions of the whole of 20 reactions. These diagrams are applied to the study of the influence of temperature and pressure on the stability of troilite FeS and pyrite FeS2, and on the stability and composition of high temperature hexagonal pyrrhotite gamma FeS 1X and of molten ferrous sulphide. On the basis of published thermodynamic data, one establishes diagrams representing the influence of temperature and pressure on the equilibrium conditions of the whole of 48 reactions. These diagrams are applied to the study of the influence of temperature and pressure on the stability and decomposition of FeS04 and Fe2(S04)3, on the ferric oxide as a catalyst for the oxidation of (S02) to (S03), and on the high temperature corrosion of iron in gaseous atmospheres containing oxygen and sulphur derivatives.
