(3)-,(4)-, and (5)-Pericyclyne: Through-Bond versus through-Space Interactions

Modified Neglect of Differential Overlap (MNDO) calculations for 3-, 4-, and 5 pericyclyne indicate that interactions between triple bonds are hyperconjugative in the Pi system and homoconjugative in the sigma system and that 3pericyclyne may be interconverted with a valence tautomer, tricyclopropabenzene.
