The DOD challenge is to improve material readiness, while also seeking ways to lower overall costs. The Logistics Applications of Automated Marking and Reading Symbols (LOGMARS) Program, using bar code technology in automated logistics systems, is ideally suited to achieve these objectives. Implementation of LOGMARS will increase productivity, reduce error rates, and improve the responsiveness of automated systems. This directory lists applications initiated by the various DOD components and the status of each. It is intended to eliminate duplicative development efforts within the components where application efforts are similiar.
