Software Conversion of Standard Linear Format (SLF) to Standard Interchange Format (SIF)

Software accepts a digital cartographic data set in DMA Standard Linear Format as input and generates graphics and attribute data base information in Intergraph Corporation Standard Interchange Format. Cartographic feature information is examined to derive graphic symbolization characteristics. Validation of inputs ensures the quality of the output. Additional software provides the capability to convert from Intergraph Standard Interchange Format to DMA Standard Linear Format. This report describes the capabilities, logical flow and components of the Conversion Software. The final section presents conclusions regarding performance and limitations and recommends areas for further investigation. The Users Manual, Program Maintenance Manual and Message Definition Document are included as Appendices.
