Death after Failure by Herbal Doctor to Give Rabies Post-Exposure Prophylaxis.

A case from the Philippines about the misuse of 'Western' techniques by a traditional or herbal doctor is reported. A Filipino male was bitten by a rapid dog and after consulting a herbal doctor, was given two injections of penicillin without giving post-exposure rabies prophylaxis. After a month the patient died with symptoms typical of furious rabies.
