Iodine Monochloride as a Reagent for the Preparation of Heterocyclic Polymer Precursors-Utility and Limitations

摘要

Whereas iodine monochloride reacted with o-nitroaniline or p-nitroaniline to afford iodine substituted products useful for aromatic coupling or functional group introduction, the reaction of iodine monochloride with amide derivatives of o-phenylenediamine afforded predominantly chlorination. The scope of the reaction was investigated varying both substituted phenylenediamine amide substrate and solvents. (Author)
