摘要

Attempted synthesis of qinghaosu by methods shown in schemes 4-7 was carried out. Compound 16 (scheme 4) was synthesized in good yield. However, it failed to yield 18 by alkylation with 17 and LDA. By use Zhou's method, we have synthesized Zhou's compound 4 (scheme 3). Alkylation of 4 with trimethylsilyl vinyl methyl ketone is currently in progress. Keywords: Antimalarial Agents.
