Archaeological Test Excavations at CA-LAn-105, -291, and -1269, Palos Verdes Peninsula, Los Angeles County, California

This report presents the results of an archaeological survey, test and evaluation program completed at two locations near White Point, San Pedro, California. Three previously recorded cultural resource sites were (CA-LAn-105, 291, and -1269) relocated and evaluated for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. Ninety shovel test pits and six LXLM controled test units were excavated at the three sites. The artifacts and faunal remains recovered from these sites suggest that additional investigations would yield data useful in addressing some of the research issues of the Palos Verdes area. Based on the results obtained during the archaeological text excavations at Bogdanavich Park and White Point. The cultural deposits present at CA-Lan-291 and -1269 constitute National Register-eligible cultural resources. On the basis of integrity and research potential, CA-LAn-105 is not considered eligible because it is not likely to yield information important to local or regional research questions. (Author)
