The study took a cursory look at the experience in Vietnam with Unmanned Reconnaissance Systems, identified deficiencies, and proposed a generic unmanned system for the next generation of reconnaissance vehicles. The study concluded that: the technology exists today to produce an unmanned reconnaissance system that could operate effectively against fixed targets. The UARS could have a day/night under-the-weather capability and provide near-real-time intelligence.
