A computer program, GCND3D, was developed to study the thermal aspects of several rocket cook-off scenarios. The program can perform one-, two-, or three-dimensional analyses in either cartesian or polar-cylindrical coordinate systems. The ability to model solid-state chemical reactions with Arrhenius kinetics was included to simulate the reaction of thermite bonded to the outside of the rocket case. Phase change capability was included to model rocket case linear pyrolysis and case material melting. A generalized approach was adopted in the code's development so that it could be applied to a wide range of heat conduction problems.
