摘要

The overall aim of this program was to provide subject matter expertise and technical and engineering services to UTC/AFRL in support of the evaluation of emerging synthetic aviation fuels. Tasks included the following: (1) Elastomer-Fuel Compatibility Studies For Dynamic Seal Applications, (2) An Experimental Study on Laminar Flame Speeds and Extinction Stretch Rates of Jet Fuels, Alternative Fuels and Fuel Blends, (3) R8 Rotary Fuel Injection Pump Wear Testing, (4) Evaluation of JP-8 at High Temperature in the Ford 6.7L High Pressure Common Rail Diesel Engine, and (5) Fit-For-Purpose Testing of Alternative Aviation Fuels.
