An improved procedure for the inversion of forward scattering measurements to obtain aerosol size distributions will be presented. It will be shown that using the differential kernel more accurately reproduces the true size distribution over a wider size range than use of the direct kernel, when validated against several different aerosol models with realistic amounts of measurement noise. This inversion procedure will be applied to measurements of the aerosol forward scattering made in the solar blind UV and compared with direct particle counter size distribution measurements.
