Survey of Studies on Factors Affecting Air Force Professional Military Education

There have been many studies done on USAF Professional Military Education (PME) since its inception in the mid 1940s, and it is anticipated that many more studies will be done in the future. This report examines what studies have been done in four recurring areas of PME: structure, eligibility requirements, timing of attendance, and target audience. It is meant to be a reference source that can save many hours of research to people doing future studies. This report devotes a chapter to each of these areas and presents a brief chronological synopsis of studies from 1946 to 1985 that examined these areas. (Author)
