Recent Results of the Equivalent Inclusion Method Applied to Composite Materials

In the first part of this paper, the overall shear modulus of a composite is investigated when spherical inhomogeneities are periodically distributed. An approximation formula for the overall shear modulus is presented in a closed form so that the effects of the volume fractions of particles and the geometrical configurations of periodic distributions can be investigated.
