The University of Missouri-Rolla (UMR) has undertaken the development of an experimental cloud simulation facility designed to study the microphysical processes active in atmospheric clouds and fogs. At the center of the facility are two cooled walled expansion cloud chambers in which clouds may be produced and their evolution observed. A natural first step in the use of this facility is the study of the behavior of liquid water cloud drops under in-cloud thermodynamic conditions, in particular a study of the condensation coefficient. Ramped and expansion-compression-expansion experimental results are presented.
