摘要

A numerical investigation of finite-volume techniques using the inviscid Burgers equation was conducted. An explicit, second-order, one-sided, or upwind differencing scheme developed by Warming and Beam was used. First, the difference scheme was analyzed for consistency, stability, convergence, phase and dispersion error, and artificial dissipation. Then, various combinations of finite-volume and extrapolation techniques were tested and conclusions and recommendations for their use were formulated.
