摘要

The synthesis and characterization of the first soluble, poly(diarylsilane) derivatives are described. The electronic absorption of these materials occurs around 400 nm making them the most red shifted polysilanes yet reported. Although the reason for this spectral red shift is uncertain, one possibility is that they exist predominately in the trans conformation even in solution.
