Tools for Learning (Equipe Inference et Apprentissage)

摘要

The main research topic of this contract, i.e. testing how symbolic Machine Learning (ML) techniques can be applied to Scene Analysis, has been completed by the final implementation of our system that learns features to recognize multi-font characters. The approach we want to develop can be summarized as follows: Inductive Learning of decision trees from a fixed vocabulary; Learning new descriptors improving the decision tree; Merging the results of 1- and 2- Discriminant methods; Finding intentional recognition functions; Merging 'discrimination' and 'recognition'.
