摘要

Early-transition-metal silyl chemistry is a rather undeveloped field that shows promise for providing unusual and useful transformations in organosilicon and transition-metal compounds. Early-transition-metal silyl compounds may also serve as organometallic precursors to advanced materials such as refractory metal silicides (e.g.m TiSi2, NbSi2, TaSix, and WSi2), which are used in integrated-circuit technology. A broader applications of this chemistry must be preceded by a better understanding of reactivity and bonding in these silyl derivatives.
