摘要

The increasing ease of hydride ion abstraction with the number of the P(CH3)3 attached to a borane structure was demonstrated for a series of pentaborane adducts. Thus, although B5H9 did not react with C(C6H5)3BF4 at room temperature B5H9P(CH3)3 and B5H92P(CH3)3 readily reacted at -30 and -80 C, respectively, to give new members of the polyboron complex cations.
