Recognition of Isolated Non-Speech Sounds

摘要

Six experiments were completed and analyzed. These studies addressed the role of uncertain causation in the identification of sounds. In particular, the experiments examined the hypothesis that identification takes longer as the number of alternative causes of the sound increases. Issues related to this hypothesis were also investigated. Summaries of these experiments are included.
