Progress in the Synthesis of New Tetrabenzporphyrins: Zinc Tetra-1,2-Naphthoporphyrin

摘要

A synthetic route to zinc tetra-1,2-naphthoporphyrin was investigated. The synthetic scheme involved the multistep preparation of a benz(e)isoindole and its subsequent reaction with formaldehyde and zinc acetate at high temperature to form the desired porphyrin structure. The final compound was examined by high resolution proton and carbon NMR spectroscopy, possibility that various isomers of this compound were formed is also discussed.
