Evaluation of a New Printing of Pseudoisochromatic Plates.

A new printing of pseudoisochromatic plates was compared with the old printing in three ways to determine if individuals with normal color vision erroneously failed the new version. Spectroradiometric measurements of the colors were compared, 20 color normal subjects were tested, and the spatial arrangements of the dots comprising the plates were examined. There was no evidence that the new plates failed color normals, despite the fact that the quality control of the new printing was clearly less precise than that of the old plates. (kt/kr)
