Sample Schemes for Reconstruction of Multidimensional Signals from Multiple Level Threshold Crossings

It has been shown that under certain conditions multidimensional signals can be recovered from one-level crossings (e.g. zero crossings). However, the accuracy with which the locations of the one-level crossings need to be specified is large enough to limit its applicability in practical situations. To overcome this problem, two sampling strategies are derived for reconstruction of multidimensional signals from multiple level threshold crossings. Two construction algorithms are proposed for each of the two sampling schemes, and a preliminary investigation presented of their quantization characteristics.
