US Army Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona 33-Year Climate Calendar and Tables on Associated Weather Elements 1954 - 1986. American Desert Country

This report contains an extremely well documented history of pure desert conditions over a 33-yr period (1954 through 1986). The desert region is in southwestern Arizona. In many cases this climate is similar to the Midwest regions. In addition to the general discussion of the terrain, climate, visibility, and other features of interest, extensive detail and analyses of most weather elements during this period are presented in the eight appendices. Of interest to some is the fact that this period covers three sunspot cycle periods of 11 yr each and one cycle of the 22-yr variety. The data is presented here in a manner that interested personnel may develop their own comparative graphs to determine what effect, if any, these cycles have on varied weather elements in desert country.
