摘要

Zeolites are studied in order to understand the many roles they play in catalysis and in molecular sieving. Knowledge of the microscopic composition and structure of these molecules and the mobility of adsorbed substrates, as well as the substrate-surface interactions, and the mobility's control of the products of reactions of molecules adsorbed on the zeolitic surface are discussed in this chapter. Geometric effects (local pore size and por shape and also global pore shape, interconnectivity and tortuosity) are major factors in determining the molecular shape/size and site-selecive behavior of zeolites. In addition, the influence of electrostatic fields, steric factors, and number density resulting from the cations associated with the framework must be elucidated. Keywords: Pentasil topology, Faujasite topology, Radical Paris, Ketones, Photolysis, Reprints. (aw)
