Analysis of the Proposed Airline Competition Enhancement Act of 1989

This analysis examines problem issues in the passenger airline industry anddetermines how the proposed Airline Competition Enhancement Act would impact these issues. A summarization of the history of airline deregulation is followed by an assessment of the factors that are contributing to the call for re-regulation. From this assessment, recommendations for changes to the proposed Airline Competition Enhancement Act are made.
