A study was performed to investigate the electromagnetic scattering in the timedomain by a plane interface between two half-spaces. One half-space is assumed to be vacuum, while the other half-space is homogeneous and consists of lossy material. The incident field is assumed to be a uniform plane wave. Hence, this study addresses the one-dimensional scattering problem. Both horizontal and vertical polarization of the incident field are addressed. Starting with the
