摘要

The internal flow of a multi-compartmented muffler was investigated both byexperiment and simulation to determine the attenuating mechanisms and internal flow of gun mufflers. The muffler, which had approximately nine times the internal volume of the bore and chamber of the gun, was attached to the 25mm M242 cannon. Pressure transducers were inserted at selected locations on the cylinder of the muffler and gun barrel to measure internal pressures.
