Learning Morse Code Characters: A Replication of the Keller Method

This Research Note describes a study conducted as part of a larger project toimprove the training of Morse code intercept skills. The study was a partial replication of the 'code-voice' method developed for initial character training by Keller and his associates during World War II. The method was carried out with nine subjects. Results showed that this training method continues to be of value in initial character learning of Morse code, and that seemingly small modifications to the procedure can have substantial effects on the rate of acquisition.
