Feasibility of Specialized Subcommunities Within the General Unrestricted Line Officer Community.

This thesis analyzes the feasibility of reorganizing the General Unrestricted Line community into six specialized sub-communities, while maintaining the requirements for leadership and subspecialty development prescribed by the current career path. FORECASTER, an interactive personnel flow model was used in the analysis. Steady state analysis was conducted for each sub-community to determine long term feasibility. Transient analysis was conducted to determine if feasibility could be achieved in a reasonably short period of time. The results of the analysis indicate that while reorganization into sub-communities is theoretically feasibility it is not practical in the short term.
