Mood in Relationship to Immuno-Competence and Physical Illnesses.

Two groups were evaluated in terms of measures of their mood, immune system and endocrine stress: cyclothymic subjects in depressed and euthymic states (Study l) and patients with major depression at intake, termination and follow-up with dynamic psychotherapy. These physically healthy young adults generally did not show mood-related impairments in terms of immune system measures. The ACTH measure was more related to immune decrements than the depression measures.
