摘要

Both cellular and humoral immune mechanisms against the pre-erythrocytic stagesof malaria have been shown to protect against sporozoite-induced malaria in rodent model systems. However, the potent, protective immunity, conferred by immunization with irradiation-attentuated sporozoites are able to confer such immunity, and it is now thought that this is in part due to the requirement for production of the appropriate antigens within the hosts' cells so that they can be exported in the class I pathway, and presented to CD8+ T cells in combination with class 1 MHC molecules.
