摘要

The recent realization of femtosecond-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy in theUV region has led to important new results for a number of fundamental processes in the chemistry of liquids, such as transient solvation and ultra-fast intramolecular electron-transfer (ET) reactions. The technology for recording femtosecond emission data continues to improve since our first publications, and it now is possible to record emission dynamics in the UV with 50 fsec resolution and an instrument response function full width at half-maximum of 200 fsec. The instrument response function is the solid curve without data points in the upper panel.
