Development of a Database Management System for Library Loan Management

摘要

This thesis deals with the procedures for and the issues in the analysis, design,and implementation of Library Loan Management System (LLMS). LLMS is a low-volume real-time transaction processing system intended for small or medium size libraries. It is designed to provide such library functions as library cataloging, patron registration, circulation, and reference services based on a relational database management system. We implemented prototype LLMS to run on IBM PC/AT or XT compatible microcomputer using dBASE IV. The developed prototype system has been documented in this thesis. We also discuss some issues in implementing LLMS in a networked environment. (Author) (KR)
