Triggers of the Great Depression: Comparing Economic Climates in the 1920s Withthe 1980s

This thesis examines the similarities in economic climates between the 1920s andthe 1980s. It concludes that dangerous economic conditions arise whenever there is an insufficient flow of funds to debtor nations. It is proposed that Japan contribute to the stability of the world economy through an expansion of its imports and, through its global corporations, encouraging continued direct investment abroad.
