This Directive reissues reference (a) DoD Directive 5160.64, 'Federal Legal Information Through Electronics (FLITE),' October 9, 1974 (hereby canceled) to: (1) Continue authorization for the operation of the FLITE system. (2) Establish and authorize the operation of the DEARAS. (3) Establish DoD policy and assign responsibilities for administering FLITE and DEARAS. (4) Designate the Secretary of the Air Force as the DoD Executive Agent for operation, maintenance, and continuous development of FLITE and DEARAS.
