This report summarizes a collection of laboratory ultrasonic modeling findings ontransient liquid/solid seismo-acoustic wave phenomena. The topics covered include: (1)horizontal refraction of flexural waves by trapped gas pockets underneath floating plate, (2) wide-angle remote generation of broadband transient Scholte waves at liquid/solid interfaces from conversion of underwater acoustic waves by abrupt liquid discontinuities, steep topographic features, and adjacent immersed elastic solids, (3) characteristics of multiple transient leaky Rayleigh wave components in shallow water, (4) effect of water loading on edge waves along apex of immersed acute-angle solid wedge, and (5) on group velocity of medium frequency transient longitudinal waves in thick elastic waveguides. The findings pertain to Arctic underwater acoustics, ice mechanics, geophysical exploration, material characterization, nondestructive testing, and acoustic sensors.
