Photodynamics and Physics behind Tunable Solid-State Lasers

摘要

Research was focused in two areas: (1) Using excite-and-probe anti-Stokes Ramanscattering apparatus, the nonequilibrium phonons which participate in the overall complex nonradiative decay in tunable solid-state laser crystals, were directly identified. Rise and decay behavior of different Raman-active phonon modes were measured. (2) A new laser ion, Chromium 4(+) in chromium-doped forsterite was discovered, and its spectroscopic and laser characteristics were investigated.
