The conference consisted of a diverse series of lectures covering the synthesisand properties of new high-performance resins, properties of the interphase that develops between a resin and a fibrous or particulate inclusion, and mechanisms of failure of composite materials, particularly failures associated with cavitation or void formation in the resin that later develop into cracks.
