Five Anopheles pseudowillmori were found to be infected with Plasmodium; at leastone had P. falciparum sporozoites in its salivary glands. This is the first incrimination of this species as a vector of malaria. The name An. pseudowillmori refers to one of the six biological species which, as recently as 1982, were all confused within the single taxon An. maculatus s.l.
