FDDI Installation and Performance Analysis

摘要

This thesis discusses the theory behind collision based and noncollision basednetwork protocols. From this basis, a complete theoretical performance analysis is performed on both Ethernet and FDDI. The CAPSnet FDDI installation is discussed and evaluated. Actual performance tests for both Ethernet and FDDI are provided and the results are discussed in detail. The test results are compared and analyzed. Actual performance is compared to theoretical performance. An explanation is provided to explain why actual performance does not match theoretical performance....
