Study of Novice Systems Analysis Problem Solving Behaviors Using ProtocolAnalysis

摘要

The purpose of this research was to determine the problem solving behaviors ofnovice systems analysts during the design process. Using Protocol Analysis, this research found that novice analysts like their expert counterparts used an iterative problem solving process. However, unlike expert analysts, they exhibited a typical working behavior that tended to focus directly on the task at hand while overlooking larger but pertinent issues.
